I have been quiet on my social media and Etsy shop for awhile now. Like many people this global pandemic was a shock. Thankfully I run my shop from home and my husband is able to work from home so financially we have been ok.
Although we are home bodies the stay at home orders have added layers of stress that we weren’t used to. Having 3 kids home all day making a mess, coordinating hours of homework, virtual classroom meetings and over 6 therapy sessions each week for 2 of our 3 kids. Managing orders coming in and following up with customers because I know it’s frustrating when the mail takes a while. Trying to keep the house clean with everyone home. And then making over 150 masks to donate to a local hospital. We have definitely had our moments of complete and total meltdown but we do our best to keep things in perspective.
Many of our friends and family and people in our community have been impacted in much bigger ways than us. Many have lost loved ones, lost jobs they counted on to pay bills, had to shut down businesses, or had to be separated from loved ones during important life moments. We are thankful to those that are making sacrifices so that families can stay home and be safe. We are thankful for our jobs and for the ability to provide for our family. We are thankful for technology that makes it possible to teach our children, work, order food, and stay in contact with friends and family. We are thankful for so much. The stress and inconvenience seems so minor in comparison. Thank you to all that are doing their parts to get through this unusual time in world.
